Trump Calls For The Prosecution Of “Anonymous” Former Trump Official For Speaking Out Against Him

President Trump on Wednesday lashed out at the former Trump administration official who was revealed as “Anonymous,” the person who wrote a widely read 2018 New York Times op-ed titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” as well as a subsequent book.

It turns out Anonymous is Miles Taylor, a former official at the Department of Homeland Security, who was a high-level aide to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

Taylor, who left the administration in 2019, had come forward to condemn Trump publicly earlier this year. This August, he starred in a video for the group Republican Voters Against Trump, and began doing media interviews.

“Who is Miles Taylor? Said he was ‘anonymous’, but I don’t know him - never even heard of him,” Trump claimed on Twitter after the revelation. “Just another @nytimes SCAM - he worked in conjunction with them. Also worked for Big Tech’s @Google. Now works for Fake News @CNN. They should fire, shame, and punish everybody associated with this FRAUD on the American people!”

Taylor responded by tweeting a picture of himself with the president and writing: “That’s too bad. I remember you, all too well. And I will continue shining a light on your failed presidency through the election—and beyond.”

Speaking at a campaign rally, Trump called for the prosecution of Taylor.

“I’ll tell you what, this guy, in my opinion, he should be prosecuted. He should be prosecuted,” Trump said.

Trump described Taylor as a “low-level staffer”, a “sleaze bag,” a “nobody” and “a disgruntled employee” who was fired for “incompetence.”
