Just seconds into his address to the United Nation General Assembly on Tuesday morning, President Trump proudly declared that his administration has been among the most successful in the nearly 250 years since the U.S. was founded, a reaction that was met with raucous laughter from the audience of global leaders and diplomats.
“In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” Trump attempted to claim before audible laughter broke out.
The laughs grew louder when Trump said “so true.”
After an awkward pause, Trump relented: “Didn’t expect that reaction, but that’s okay,” he said with a half-smile.
Again, the crowd’s nervous laughter grew louder with some applause.

“We need a President who isn’t a laughing stock to the entire World. We need a truly great leader, a genius at strategy and winning. Respect!” Trump tweeted in 2014.
