‘You’re Just A Faker’: Trump Lashes Out At Reporter Who Asked About His ‘Chosen One’ Declaration
President Trump lashed out at media coverage of his remarks earlier this week in which he declared himself “the chosen one” to take on decades of unfair Chinese trade practices.
In a wide-ranging press gaggle before departing for the G7 in France, Trump late Friday said his “chosen one” remark was just “sarcasm.”
Asked about the remark on the White House’s south lawn, Trump responded with visible impatience: “Let me tell you, you know exactly what I meant.”
“It was sarcasm,” he continued. “It was joking. We were all smiling.”
“And the question like that is just fake news,” Trump told the reporter. “You’re just a faker.”

Trump took to Twitter hours later to slam the media as “fake news” over their coverage of his “chosen one” remark.
….having fun. I was smiling as I looked up and around. The MANY reporters with me were smiling also. They knew the TRUTH…And yet when I saw the reporting, CNN, MSNBC and other Fake News outlets covered it as serious news & me thinking of myself as the Messiah. No more trust!

Trump called himself the “chosen one” on Wednesday as he discussed his trade war with China while.
“Somebody said it is Trump’s trade war. This isn’t my trade war,” Trump told reporters Wednesday. “This is a trade war that should have taken place a long time ago by a lot of other presidents.”
