Watch: Person In Crowd Throws Phone At Trump During Speech At NRA Convention

A person in the crowd during President Trump’s authoritarian-style speech to the National Rifle Association in Indianapolis on Friday threw what appeared to be a cell phone at the president as he walked onto the stage.

According to a video posted on social media, the object landed on the stage to Trump’s left as he approached the podium.

The person believed to have thrown the object was quickly removed from the event, according to convention attendees.

“A man threw a cell phone on stage when President Trump walked out for his @nra speech,” tweeted Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich. “He threw it stage left, while POTUS was closer to stage right.”

Trump later launched into an angry rant painting all asylum-seeking refugees presenting themselves at the U.S.-Mexico border as violent criminals who “start hitting” and “punching” officials.

Trump falsely claimed that asylum seekers are handed pre-written statements to help them cheat the country’s immigration system.

“But they stand there, asylum, and they read a statement, ‘I am afraid for my life. I am afraid to go back to my country. I want to be an American,’ ” Trump said, imitating a refugee.

“And you look and you see a toughness that you don’t see And you just see what happens with the mayor of Tijuana and others they say, ‘These people, we try and help them, and they start hitting us, they start punching us,’ ” he claimed, painting all migrants as violent thugs.

“We don’t want them in our country and they’re not getting into our country and when they have in the past, a lot of them have come in, we’ere throwing them the hell out, they’re out, we’re getting them out,” Trump said as Fox News abruptly cut off his angry speech.

“Okay, this is President trump speaking in Indianapolis to the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting,” Fox News host Melissa Francis interrupted.
