A pallbearer at Democratic Rep. Elijah Cumming’s memorial on Thursday was seen shaking hands with all of the top congressional leaders before skipping Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who could be seen extending his hand.
Video of the memorial showed the pallbearer, who has been identified in reports as Bobby Rankin, skipping the senator while greeting a line of other senior lawmakers that included both Republicans and Democrats.
It is not clear what prompted Rankin to snub McConnell.
No hand shake for Leader McConnell.

McConnell spoke on Thursday at a D.C. ceremony honoring Cummings who became the first African American to lie in state in the U.S. Capitol’s Statuary Hall.
“By day, the congressman was here in the Capitol working and leading in these hallways of power,” McConnell said.
“But every night, he rode the train back home and walked the neighborhoods, bullhorn in hand, encouraging unity and peace,” he added.
Former Presidents Obama and Clinton are both scheduled to speak at the Baltimore funeral service for the former House Oversight and Reform Committee chairman on Friday.
