A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday finds that more U.S. voters still say former President Barack Obama is responsible for the current state of the U.S. economy than President Trump.
The poll finds that 49 percent of Americans say Obama is more responsible for the current U.S. economy compared to 40 percent who say Trump is responsible.
The number of respondents who give Obama credit for the current state of the economy has grown in the past two months from 43 percent in November.
The new poll also finds that 66 percent of U.S. voters say the economy is “excellent” or “good.”
Last week, Trump bragged to reporters that the stock market was up “very, very big today” and said that the “tax cuts are really kicking in far beyond what anyone thought.”
“The market is good, the jobs report was good and we think they’re going to get really good over the next couple of months,” Trump said.
