Trump Uses Vulgarity, Calls For Romney’s Impeachment For Daring To Criticize Him

Trump Uses Vulgarity, Calls For Romney’s Impeachment For Daring To Criticize Him

President Trump on Saturday slammed Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) as a “pompous ‘ass’ ” before calling for the senator’s impeachment a day after Romney criticized Trump’s requests that foreign leaders investigate a political opponent.

In a pair of tweets, Trump argued that the Utah Republican should be removed from office and that former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), another Trump frequent critic, was “better” than Romney.

“I’m hearing that the Great People of Utah are considering their vote for their Pompous Senator, Mitt Romney, to be a big mistake. I agree! He is a fool who is playing right into the hands of the Do Nothing Democrats! #IMPEACHMITTROMNEY,” Trump tweeted.

“No Kevin, Jeff Flake is better!” he added, responding to Fox News reporter Kevin Corke’s tweet questioning whether Romney was “the new #JeffFlake.”

Senators cannot be impeached but can face recall votes in some states.

“Somebody please wake up Mitt Romney and tell him that my conversation with the Ukrainian President was a congenial and very appropriate one, and my statement on China pertained to corruption, not politics. If Mitt worked this hard on Obama, he could have won. Sadly, he choked!” Trump tweeted hours earlier.

Then, Trump continued, “Mitt Romney never knew how to win. He is a pompous ‘ass’ who has been fighting me from the beginning, except when he begged me for my endorsement for his Senate run (I gave it to him), and when he begged me to be Secretary of State (I didn’t give it to him). He is so bad for R’s!”

Romney ripped into Trump on Friday for publicly requesting that China and Ukraine investigate the Biden family, calling it “wrong and appalling” and clearly “politically motivated” because of the 2020 presidential election.

“When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated,” Romney said in a statement, which he also tweeted out.

“By all appearances, the President’s brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling,” he added.
