Trump Uses Favorite Sharpie To Scribble His Name On Border Fence During US-Mexico Border Visit

President Trump signed a section of border fence, reportedly using a Sharpie, during a visit to the US-Mexico border in California on Wednesday.

Trump visited Otay Mesa, Calif., to talk about new developments of his long-promised border wall.

Following a short press conference, reporters said the president pulled out his favorite Sharpie to sign the wall.

Trump told reporters that the border fence is “world-class” and is wired to detect any climbers.

Lt Gen Semonite of Army Corps of Engineers interrupted to “tell the president it’s better not to talk about it in public,” according to CBS’ Mark Knoller. “The president agreed but told press, just know that it’s wired. And he said ‘this wall can’t be climbed.’ ”

“It’s more expensive, but it’s the right thing to do,” he said, according to CBS.

CNN’s Jim Acosta noted: “Down at border, Trump just signed section of wall (fence) with sharpie. This, after an official minutes ago rejected the idea that the wall is a ‘vanity project.’ ”
