Trump Tweets Video Of Himself Physically Body Slamming And Punching ‘CNN’

President Donald Trump took his attacks on the free press to a new level Sunday morning, tweeting out an edited version of a 2007 video that shows him body-slamming and punching a person with the CNN logo superimposed on his head at a wrestling match.

The video is from a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) event where Trump body-slammed and repeatedly punched WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

“#FraudNewsCNN #FNN,” Trump wrote, retweeting the video to the official President of the United States @POTUS Twitter account.

His latest attack on the free press comes just days after Trump’s press communications staffer Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the White House Press Corps that “the president in no way, form or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence.”

CNN’s Senior Media Correspondent Brian Stelter shared a statement from CNN on Sunday morning, which said the president’s behavior is “far below the dignity of his office.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi responded to the president’s attack on the free press on Twitter Sunday morning, calling for a rejection of bullying of the press.

Appearing this morning on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos”, Republican strategist Anna Navarro called Trump’s Twitter statements “an incitement to violence” against the free press and warned that he “is going to get somebody killed in the media.”

“America, we cannot stand for it,” she said.

In a speech honoring veterans at the Kennedy Center on Saturday night, Trump launched an attack against the press again, according to Business Insider.

“The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House, but I’m president and they’re not,” he said. “The fact is the press has destroyed themselves because they went too far. Instead of being subtle and smart, they used a hatchet.”

His latest tweet follows a week of attacks focused on CNN, which he labels as “fake news” and “fraud news.”

The president spent much of the last week publicly feuding with MSNBC “Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, after he attacked Brzezinski’s looks on Thursday by claiming she was “bleeding from a face-lift” when she visited his Florida estate over the New Year.
