President Donald Trump released a New Year’s Eve video appearing to bemoan the fact that he was not able to attend a lavish year-end party at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
“While I’m at the White House working, you’re out there partying tonight,” Trump said. “But I don’t blame you.”
“Enjoy yourselves, we’re going to have a great year, have a really, really happy New Year,” he added.

Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s acting Chief-of-Staff, confirmed to Fox & Friends on Sunday that Trump would be staying put in the nation’s capital for the countdown to midnight as he continues to deal the government shutdown, which has entered its 10th day.
“He’s canceled his plans for Christmas — now he’s canceled his plans for New Year’s,” Mulvaney said.
But Melania reportedly hasn’t canceled her plans.
A source told Hollywood Life over the weekend that Melania will reportedly attend the annual New Year’s Eve gala at Mar-a-Lago on Monday without her husband.
Trump on Christmas Eve complained in a Tweet that he was “all alone (poor me)” in the White House and was “waiting for the Democrats to come back” to end the shutdown.
