During a recent appearance on Fox Business, Evangelical pastor and spiritual adviser to President Trump, Robert Jeffress, declared that Trump has finally made it safe to celebrate Christmas in America again.
“I’ve never seen the president more upbeat or positive or focused than he was today,” Jeffress told host Lou Dobbs, referring to an earlier meeting with the president. “And look, this impeachment farce, it isn’t paralyzing the president. It is energizing him.”
Jeffress then warned that the longer Democrats carry on their impeachment inquiry, “the larger [Trump’s] margin of reelection is going to be in 2020. The American people are with this president.”
“And I couldn’t agree with you more,” Dobbs said.
The Fox host then played a clip of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi speaking about her Catholic faith while chastising a reporter for asking her if she “hates” Trump.
“I don’t hate anybody,” Pelosi said sternly, pointing her finger at the reporter. “I was raised in a Catholic house, we don’t hate anybody, not anybody in the world.”
“I was raised in a way that is a heart full of love and always pray for the president. And I still pray for the president all the time. So don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that,” Pelosi said, before leaving the podium.
“You know, I find it interesting that she is so indignant about being accused of hatred saying that it goes against her Catholic faith,” Jeffress said. “Well, what about her belief in unrestricted abortion? That certainly goes against her faith, and she doesn’t apologize for that, she celebrates her belief in the murder of the unborn.”
The discussion then turned to Pope Francis’s recent comparison of Trump to the biblical King Herod.
“Herod wanted to extinguish Christmas by getting rid of Christ before the first Christmas,” Jeffress said. “President Trump celebrates Christmas, has brought it back to the forefront of our country, and that means bringing Christ back as well.”
