President Donald Trump on Saturday responded to reports of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s reappearance in public with a tweet saying he was glad to see his friend was doing well.
“I, for one, am glad to see he is back, and well!” Trump tweeted on Saturday evening and included a link to apparent new photographs of Kim Jong-un.

After weeks of intense speculation about Kim’s health, North Korea’s state media said on Saturday that the brutal dictator had attended the completion of a fertilizer plant north of Pyongyang on Friday, the first report of his appearance since April 11.
The absence of the country’s leader over the last three weeks triggered rumors he was dead or in a coma after failed heart surgery.
At a rally in 2018, Trump declared that he and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un “fell in love.”
“I was really being tough and so was he,” he told the crowd. “And we would go back and forth. And then we fell in love. No really. He wrote me beautiful letters.”
“They were great letters. And then we fell in love.”
