President Trump took to Twitter early Sunday to push back against media reports that he called Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, “nasty.”
“I never called Meghan Markle ‘nasty,'” Trump falsely claimed.
“Made up by the Fake News Media, and they got caught cold!” he added.
“Will @CNN, @nytimes and others apologize? Doubt it!”

Unfortunately for the president, audio posted to Twitter by the Official Trump War Room — along with other media outlets- proves that he did call the Duchess of Sussex “nasty” during his interview with the Sun.

Trump, in an interview published Friday, said he was not aware that the Duchess had called him “divisive” and “misogynistic” during his 2016 presidential campaign.
“I didn’t know that. What can I say?” he told The Sun just days ahead of his state visit to the United Kingdom.
“I didn’t know that she was nasty,” he added.
