Trump Says Minority Congresswomen Aren’t ‘Capable Of Loving Our Country.’ Demands Their Apology

President Trump escalated his attacks against four Democratic congresswomen of color on Sunday, saying that the “weak” lawmakers should “apologize to America” for the “horrible (hateful) things they have said.”

The comments came exactly one week after he told the lawmakers — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) — to “go back” to the “crime infested places” they came from.

“I don’t believe the four Congresswomen are capable of loving our Country,” Trump said in an early morning tweet. “They should apologize to America (and Israel) for the horrible (hateful) things they have said. They are destroying the Democrat Party, but are weak & insecure people who can never destroy our great Nation!”

Trump’s accusation that the congresswomen aren’t “capable of loving our Country” was quickly countered by Twitter users who dug up clips of Trump’s trashing America, calling the U.S. a “third world country” and declaring in 2015 that “the American dream is dead!”

Trump also lashed out at media coverage of a racist “send her back” chant that broke out at his campaign rally in North Carolina this week, saying that more time should be spent on the congresswomen’s comments.

“It is amazing how the Fake News Media became ‘crazed’ over the chant ‘send her back’ by a packed Arena (a record) crowd in the Great State of North Carolina, but is totally calm & accepting of the most vile and disgusting statements made by the three Radical Left Congresswomen,” Trump tweeted Friday.
