President Trump on Friday asserted that special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the Russia probe, and former FBI Director James Comey are best friends.
“Mr. Mueller is highly conflicted,” Trump claimed. “In fact, Comey is like his best friend. I could go into conflict after conflict.”
Trump also told White House reporters that former CIA Director Brennan now has a “bigger voice” after he revoked his security clearance, but that’s OK with him, “because I like taking on voices like that.” He also claimed to have received a “tremendous response” for his decision to strip Brennan’s clearance.

The president also defended his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, calling him “a very good person.”
“I think the whole Manafort trial is very sad,” Trump said. “I think it’s a very sad day for our country. He happens to be a very good person, and I think it’s very sad what they’ve done to Paul Manafort.”
