Trump Lashes Out At Pelosi, Attacks ‘Fake News’ During Ceremony Honoring Stanley Cup Champs

President Trump on Tuesday turned a ceremony at the White House congratulating the 2019 Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues into an opportunity to rail against the House impeachment inquiry and to launch an attack on the free press.

The president began by discussing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, saying, “Mexico-Canada’s happening if they can ever get it approved. I doubt they will because it’s [Speaker] Nancy Pelosi [D-Calif.].”

“They’re too busy working on impeachment,” Trump complained with the NHL champs behind him in the Rose Garden. “And by the way, we’ve just hit the greatest economy we’ve ever had. Let’s impeach the president. Isn’t that a good idea?”

“I wouldn’t worry about it, fellas. I wouldn’t worry about it. Don’t worry too much. How we doing Roy? Okay in the Senate? I hear we are looking very good. I hear our senators, they’re the greatest.”

Trump at one point launched an attack on the free press, labeling them “the fake news,” to laughs from the St. Louis Blues.

Trump also joked about one player who was missing a few teeth.

“Look at that mouth,” Trump said, calling the player over to him. “You think he’s taken a few hits?”

“Do you think I could take him in a fight? I don’t know,” he added.

Trump also took a shot at sports agents: “Those agents, right? They sit in bed, they weigh 350 pounds, and they complain, ‘you’re not playing very well today, c’mon.'”
