Donald Trump Jr. seems to think his father is just as innocent as O.J. Simpson.
The president’s eldest son posted a photo to his Instagram account this Thursday of Johnnie Cochran, the late O.J. Simpson lawyer, along with a riff on the attorney’s famed claim to jurors in the football star’s murder trial that “if (the glove) doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”
“If you cant impeach rip up the speach (sic),” reads the meme, which contained a misspelling.
The meme, which garnered nearly 100,000 likes, was a reference to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s now-infamous stunt where she ripped up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union speech this past Tuesday.
“Guess we know where Nancy got her terribly contrived plan,” Donald Jr. captioned the Instagram post.
Many Instagram users were quick to attack Don Jr. for making the O.J. comparison, with one user writing: “We view his acquittal the same as OJ’s too. It’s too bad you aren’t smart enough to figure out that isn’t good.”
“Not to mention, OJ was acquitted but guilty AF,” another commenter wrote. “Nice comparison junior.”
Others took jabs at his misspelling: “Omg, you are so pathetic and can’t even spell. Triggered, lol.”
Some took joy in noting that President Trump was already impeached: “Oh and a he WAS impeached, and that’s forever.”
