Trump: I Could Win Afghanistan War ‘In A Week’ By Wiping ’10 Million’ People ‘Off The Face Of The Earth’

President Donald Trump on Monday said that he could bring the nearly two-decades-long war in Afghanistan to an end in under a week if the country was “wiped off the face of the Earth.”

Trump made the alarming remarks during an oval office meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to a White House pool report.

“If we wanted to fight a war in Afghanistan and win it, I could win that war in a week,” Trump told reporters.

“I just don’t want to kill ten million people,” he continued. “Does that make sense to you? I don’t want to kill ten million people.”

“I have plans on Afghanistan, that, if I wanted to win that war, Afghanistan would be wiped off the face of the Earth. It would be gone. It would be over in literally ten days,” he said. “I don’t want to go that route.”

Trump later added: “We’ve been there for 19 years and we’ve acted as policemen, not soldiers and again if we wanted to be soldiers it would be over in ten days. One week to ten days if we wanted to. But I have not chosen that. Why would we kill millions of people? It wouldn’t be fair. In terms of humanity, it wouldn’t be fair. So we are doing very well, and I think that Pakistan is going to be a big help.”

Trump also let reporters know that he has “many friends from Pakistan. Living in New York I have a lot of Pakistani friends.”
