Trump Golf Company Tweets Video Claiming Drinking Bottle Vodka Daily Will ‘Kill This Coronavirus’
President Trump’s golf company tweeted out a video featuring pro golfer John Daly who suggested that drinking a bottle of vodka a day can “kill this coronavirus.”
In the video shared by Trump Golf’s official Twitter account on April 9, Daly tells viewers to “be healthy and be smart” before they can resume golfing, Golfweek first reported on Sunday.
“But I kind of got a cure for this,” Daly deadpanned. “I only drink one drink a day — it just happens to be a bottle — of good old Belvedere.”
“You know, you just drink one of these a day. You know, sippy sippy on a little McDonald’s Diet Coke. You know, wash it down pretty good. Never have a hangover,” he added. “And that’s the way you kill this coronavirus, I believe.”
A big thank you to @PGA_JohnDaly who has always been one of our biggest fans. John thank you for the friendship. Everyone at @TrumpGolf truly loves you! #StaySafe #AmericaTogether pic.twitter.com/coWifMSa3W

Public health experts have said drinking alcohol does not protect people from the virus and that heavy consumption could actually weaken the immune system.
“Consuming alcohol will not destroy the virus, and its consumption is likely to increase the health risks if a person becomes infected with the virus,” a World Health Organization fact sheet says.
