President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday night to declare the media was “FAKE NEWS” and “THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE” at the same time a bomb threat was called into CNN’s New York City headquarters, which prompted an evacuation of the building and interrupted a live broadcast.
“FAKE NEWS – THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!” Trump tweeted at 10:08 p.m. ET.

The New York Police Department said in a statement that at around 10:07 p.m., a bomb threat was made by phone against the Time Warner Center, home to the CNN’s NYC offices.
Don Lemon’s “CNN Tonight” was abruptly taken off the air as staffers evacuated the building. CNN switched to prerecorded material during the bomb scare.
“We were evacuated in the middle of my live show. Bomb threat. We’re running taped programming. NYPD is investigating. Stay tuned,” Lemon tweeted shortly after the evacuation.
The network’s bureau in the Time Warner Center was evacuated in October after a package with an explosive device, addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, was discovered. Trump supporter Cesar Sayoc is the suspect in a mail-bomb plot to send explosives to senior Democrats and progressives, including the Clintons, billionaire philanthropist George Soros, and CNN.
In August, New York Times reporter Kenneth Vogel received a voice message from an individual who referred to him as an “enemy of the people,” and threatened him with an AK-47.
“The Fake News hates me saying that they are the Enemy of the People only because they know it’s TRUE,” Trump tweeted in August.
“I am providing a great service by explaining this to the American People. They purposely cause great division & distrust. They can also cause War! They are very dangerous & sick!”
