Trump Brags He Just Opened An Apple Plant In Texas That Has Been In Operation Since 2013

President Trump on Wednesday toured a Texas plant that has been making Apple Mac Pro computers since 2013 and took credit for it, suggesting the plant opened today.

“Today is a very special day,” the president said at the plant, according to New York Times report Jack Nicas.

Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly spoke immediately after the president and did not correct the record.

According to Nicas, the plant “the president toured today with Tim Cook is owned and run by a company called Flextronics. It has been making Apple computers since 2013. Little has changed there. That plant employs about 500 people in Texas. Apple’s Chinese manufacturers employ millions of people.”

Trump later took to Twitter to repeat the false claim.

“Today I opened a major Apple Manufacturing plant in Texas that will bring high paying jobs back to America,” Trump tweeted. “Today Nancy Pelosi closed Congress because she doesn’t care about American Workers!”
