Trump Brags About His ‘T.V. Ratings’ For 3rd Day In A Row As Death Toll Tops 18,000

President Trump took to Twitter on Friday to brag about “the T.V. Ratings for the White House News Conference’s,” marking the sixth occasion in recent days he has crowed about the television ratings for his daily appearances.

“Because the T.V. Ratings for the White House News Conference’s are the highest, the Opposition Party (Lamestream Media), the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats &, of course, the few remaining RINO’S, are doing everything in their power to disparage & end them,” Trump tweeted Friday morning.

“The People’s Voice!” he added.

As the Washington Post reports, Trump has tweeted about his ratings “on March 29twice. He mentioned them during that day’s coronavirus briefing, twice noting the comparisons to football and ‘The Bachelor.’ He tweeted about the ratings on Wednesdayon Thursday (in opposition to a Wall Street Journal editorial suggesting he stop participating in them) and again on Friday morning.”

Trump’s tweet came on the same day the U.S. COVID-19 death toll topped 18,000 people.

On Thursday, The New York Times reported that it is more than just a few Republicans who oppose Trump’s press briefings.

Close GOP allies such as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told the Times that Trump “sometimes drowns out his own message.” Graham reportedly advised the president to cut back on his appearances. And a top Trump adviser told the Times that the briefings hand ammunition to his presumptive opponent in the fall, former Vice President Joe Biden.
