Trump Boasts Of His ‘Great And Unmatched Wisdom’ Before Threatening To ‘Obliterate’ Turkish Economy

In response to fierce Republican criticism over his decision to pull U.S. troops from the Turkey-Syria border, President Trump cited his “great and unmatched wisdom” before vowing to “destroy and obliterate” Turkey’s economy if they did anything that he considered to be off-limits.

The White House announced Sunday night that U.S. troops would leave northern Syria thereby creating an opening for Turkey to attack U.S.-allied Kurdish forces in Northern Syria.

“As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!),” Trump tweeted on Monday in response to Republican criticism.

“They must, with Europe and others, watch over the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!” he added.

Trump doesn’t mention the Kurds by name, but he has boasted about preventing Erdogan from attempting to “wipe out” the Kurds in the past, so it stands to reason he was referring to them.

Many Twitter users were quick to point out that the Wizard of Oz never actually wielded any power and was, in fact, a fraud.

Walter Shaub, the former head of the Office of Government Ethics, tweeted: “If the leader of a major corporation publicly explained that a controversial action was taken ‘in my great and unmatched wisdom,’ the board would call an emergency meeting to reassure shareholders and discuss next steps. For elected officials to ignore this is Russian roulette.”

“I, in my own great and unmatched wisdom, consider this tweet to be off limits. Please destroy & obliterate it,” said British television personality Piers Morgan. “@realDonaldTrump – you’re the President of the United States, not some tinpot dictator.”
