Trump Attacks ‘The Press’ While Showering Dictator Kim With Praise And Thanks
President Trump on Sunday praised North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un for having a “powerful voice” that had “never been heard before,” shortly after he became the first American President to step over the North Korean border and shake hands with a North Korean leader.
Trump described his relationship with the North Korean leader as a “great friendship.”
“This was a special moment, a historic moment,” Trump told reporters.
“Stepping across that line was a great honor. A lot of progress has been made and a lot of friendships have been made and this, in particular, is a great friendship,” he added.
“I want to thank the chairman,” Trump said. “You’ve got to hear that powerful voice.”
He added: “We met and we liked each other from day one and that was very important.”
Then Trump took a jab at the press.
“When I put out the social media notification, if he didn’t show up the press was going to make me look very bad,” Trump smirked. “He made us both look very good. And I appreciate it.”
