Trump Attacks Mueller, Pelosi Beside Graves Of D-Day Soldiers. Pelosi Refuses To Respond Out Of ‘Principle’

President Trump on Thursday unleashed a new round of attacks on former special counsel Robert Mueller and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) during a Fox News interview at the American cemetery in Normandy, France, where he was commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.

Speaking to Fox News’ Laura Ingraham just minutes before a ceremony commemorating the allied invasion, Trump claimed that Mueller, a former longtime FBI director and a decorated Marine Corps veteran, made “a fool out of himself.”

“Let me tell you, he made such a fool out of himself,” Trump said of Mueller, who earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in the Vietnam War.

“Nancy Pelosi, I call her Nervous Nancy,” Trump said of the Democratic leader. “Nancy Pelosi is a disaster, OK? She’s a disaster. Let her do what she wants, you know what? I think they’re in big trouble.”

Pelosi, who was also in Normandy for the D-Day ceremony, declined to respond to Trump’s comments out of “principle.”

“I don’t talk about the president while I’m out of the country. That’s my principle,” she told reporters.

CNN’s Jim Acosta tweeted: “Trump called Pelosi “nervous Nancy” during an interview with Fox that featured the American cemetery at Normandy behind him. Pelosi, chatting briefly with CNN, declined to criticize Trump with the cemetery behind her saying she’d rather not do that while she’s out of the country.”

Trump’s Fox News interview took place as veterans sat waiting for the D-Day remembrance ceremony to begin. The ceremony started half an hour later than scheduled.
