President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign team has issued what appears to be its first campaign ad, with a message urging “every Trump supporter” to call an 800 number to thank Trump for his historic leadership and accomplishments.
Callers are then directed to make donations to Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign.
In the ad shared on Twitter by New York Magazine’s Yashar Ali, Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale makes the claim that President Trump has “achieved more during his time in office than any president in history.”
He then asks “every Trump supporter” to “let President Trump know we appreciate what he is doing for America” by calling the on-screen 800 number.
First 2020 ad? This Trump ad, featuring his campaign manager @parscale, just aired on CNN. It’s a minute long and asks viewers to call an 800 number to leave a thank you message for POTUS. I called the number and it leads to a fundraising appeal (not unusual for pres campaigns) pic.twitter.com/yB3Rb1pJKe

“We have a booming economy, historic low unemployment, including the lowest unemployment rate for minorities in history,” Parscale says in the ad.
“We’re bringing jobs back to America through new trade deals and the world is a safer place,” he added.
Callers who choose not to donate are met with a second request for a donation. If they reject that request, they are then directed to the president’s campaign website.
Ali says the 60-second ad, which ends with the signature “I’m Donald Trump and I approved this message” statement, appeared on CNN.
