A top Alabama cop has been forced to apologize for a Facebook post where he said that House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) could be targeted with a roadside bomb on her way home for ripping a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union speech, the Daily Mail reports.
“Pelosi just ripped up his speach [sic],” Geraldine police department assistant chief Jeff Buckles wrote. “Road Side bomb on her way home and any other Dumbocrats.”
Buckles later removed the shocking post and apologized for “venting.”
“I want to apologize for venting on FB,” he wrote in a separate Facebook post Wednesday. “I have definitely offended some people with my remarks. It just rips my heart out that our great country is so divided.”
Several users described his words as “terroristic.”
The Daily Mail notes that Buckles Facebook account is littered with posts calling Democrats, “Dumbocrats’ and praising Trump, including one where he says Trump was sent by God.
“I honestly believe that God has placed Donald Trump in the position to bring about prophecy,” he wrote on February 4. “God Bless Trump. God Bless America.”
In another post on January 15 when the articles of impeachment are signed, the officer says Pelosi “makes me sick.”
In an announcement this Thursday, Geraldine Mayor Chuck Ables said that he and Police Chief Heath Albright will meet with the town’s attorney on Friday to decide what the best course of discipline for Buckles will be.
