Former “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw fired back Thursday at President Trump for his criticism of the news media after Trump questioned the patriotism of journalists at a rally in Phoenix, Az., earlier this week.
“Mr president, i’ve been a journalist 50 yrs. Never met one who didn’t love USA. Many risk their lives reporting on US values,” Brokow tweeted, adding, “Cheap shot.”

The Hill added:
Trump railed against the media on Tuesday for coverage of his response to white nationalist violence in Charlottesville, Va., earlier this month that left one dead and dozens injured.
“I really think they don’t like our country. I really believe that,” Trump said of journalists during his rally in Phoenix.
“These were my exact words — ‘I love all the people of our country. We are going to make America great again. But we are going to make it a great for all of the people of the United States of America,’ ” Trump said on Tuesday. “And then they say, ‘Is he a racist?’ ”
“You know where my heart is,” Trump added. “I’m really doing this to show you how damned dishonest these people are.”
