Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) raised serious questions on Thursday about purported ties between Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the top minority-party member of the House Intelligence Committee and indicted Rudy Giuliani associate, Lev Parnas.
The Daily Beast reported Wednesday night that Parnas helped arrange meetings and calls for Rep. Nunes in 2018, citing an interview with Parnas’s lawyer, Ed MacMahon.
Swalwell asked that the article, titled: “Lev Parnas Helped Rep. Devin Nunes’ Investigations,” be entered into the record of the impeachment inquiry.
“Mr. Chairman,” he said, directing remarks to Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), “you have been falsely accused throughout these proceedings by the ranking member [Nunes] as being a ‘fact witness.’ ”
“Now, if this story is correct, the ranking member may have actually been projecting,” he added. “In fact, he may be the fact witness, if he is working with indicted individuals around our investigation.”
