Steve King Duped Into Praising Fictional Marine From ‘A Few Good Men’ On Fourth Of July

Rep. Steve King was duped into praising a fictional Marine Corps colonel on the Fourth of July.

Young Turks reporter Ken Klippenstein asked the Iowa Republican on Thursday evening to give a retweet to his “uncle” Col. Nathan Jessup.

That is a character played by Jack Nicholson in the 1992 film “A Few Good Men.” The tweet included a photo of Nicholson in the role.

“Colonel Jessup and all your Marines: God Bless you all. You have our back and millions of us have yours! God Bless America and all her warriors defending our Liberty!” King said in his retweet, along with his initials.

Once Klippenstein realized that King retweeted his post, he changed his Twitter name to “Steve King is a white supremacist.”

King later deleted his retweet and comments about the fictional character, but not before Twitter took notice and mocked King for the blunder.
