Special Counsel Robert Mueller Asks Federal Court For 150 Blank Subpoenas

Special counsel Robert Mueller on Wednesday filed a request for 150 blank subpoenas in the Eastern District of Virginia in the case surrounding former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

According to the Washington Examiner, the request would cover 75 potential subpoenas for witnesses who must appear on July 25 to testify.

The request for the subpoenas was filed Tuesday in Virginia.

Mueller had filed a request for 70 blank subpoenas in May.

Manafort is facing charges including tax fraud, failing to report foreign bank accounts, and failing to register as a foreign agent as part of the special counsel’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling and possible collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Moscow.

Last week, Mueller unveiled a superseding indictment against Manafort, charging him with obstruction.
