‘Sorry, Poor People’: Charles Barkley Mockingly Thanks Trump For Taking ‘Care Of Us Rich People’ With Tax Bill

NBA Hall of Famer and current basketball analyst Charles Barkley mockingly thanked Republicans for their sweeping tax-reform plan while delivering a blistering critique of “trickle-down economics,” the conservative theory that tax cuts for the wealthy stimulate economic growth.

“They say [the money is going to] trickle down,” Barkley told his co-hosts Thursday on TNT’s “Inside the NBA.”

“I’m going to trickle my fat ass down to the jewelry store and get me a new Rolex.”

“I’m not going to pass it to nobody,” Barkley, 54, continued.

“Thank you, Republicans. I know I can always count on y’all to take care of us rich people, us one percenters,” Barkely said.

“Sorry, poor people,” he added.

“I’m hoping for y’all, but y’all ain’t got no chance.”

Barkley recently campaigned for Democrat Doug Jones in the Alabama Senate race.
