Sen. Schumer Trolls Trump With Melania’s ‘Be Best’ Cyberbullying Hashtag After Twitter Attack

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y) trolled President Donald Trump for attacking him on Twitter Thursday morning by responding to his tweet with the hashtag “Be Best” — the anti-cyberbullying initiative to combat bullying on social media launched by first lady Melania Trump days earlier.

“Senator Cryin’ Chuck Schumer fought hard against the Bad Iran Deal, even going at it with President Obama, & then Voted AGAINST it!” the president tweeted, referring to the New York Democrat’s desire to stay in the Iran nuclear agreement. “Now he says I should not have terminated the deal – but he doesn’t really believe that! Same with Comey. Thought he was terrible until I fired him!”

“#BeBest” Schumer fired back, referencing Melania’s newly announced initiative, which includes efforts to tamper down cyberbullying and negativity, despite her husband often using Twitter for name-calling and attacks.

During the 2016 campaign and his presidency, Trump has bestowed nicknames on his critics and opponents, such as “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz, “Little Marco” Rubio, “Sloppy Steve” Bannon and “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer.”

The Monday unveiling of the “Be Best” campaign was met with controversy when it became known that the booklet distributed with the initiative was first published by the Federal Trade Commission during the Obama administration.
