Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he has yet to meet a single American who has seen a copy of the Senate Republicans’ healthcare bill, though he’s “sure the Russians have” gotten their hands on it, Bloomberg reported.
When asked by a reporter on Tuesday whether he has seen a copy of the legislation, McCain said he had not.
He added: “Nor have I met any American that has.”
“I’m sure the Russians have been able to hack in and gotten most of it.”
“I haven’t seen it yet, either,” said Senator Mike Lee of Utah who is among a number of senators growing frustrated with Senate Republican leaders’ efforts to draft the healthcare overhaul measure.
A vote on the measure could come as soon as next week, though some Republicans have already said they will not be able to vote for the bill because they don’t know what it entails.
