President Trump ignored questions from reporters about his “shithole countries” remark after signing a proclamation Friday honoring the federal holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As Trump turned to leave the room, a journalist called out at least twice, “Mr. President, are you a racist?”
The Hill identified the reporter as April Ryan, a White House correspondent for Urban Radio Networks and a CNN contributor.
The president continued to shake hands with guests and did not respond to reporters.

Trump praised the late civil-rights icon for “standing up the self-evident truth that Americans hold so dear: that no matter what the color of our skin, or the place of our birth, we are all created equal by God.”
“He stirred the hearts of our people to recognize the dignity written in every human soul,” Mr. Trump said.
The president has come under fire for reportedly telling a bipartisan meeting of lawmakers on immigration Thursday that the U.S. didn’t need more immigrants from “s–hole countries” in Africa.
