Senator-elect Doug Jones (D) pulled off a dramatic upset on Tuesday night by narrowly winning the Senate race in the deep-red state of Alabama, even as his Republican rival, Roy Moore, refuses to concede defeat.
Conservative radio host and vocal Trump supporter Bill Mitchell is attempting to delegitimize Jones’ electoral victory over Moore by spreading rumors of widespread voter fraud committed by black voters, despite the fact that Alabama has some of the strictest voter ID laws in the country.
“I am hearing rumors that black voters from MS were encouraged to cross over into AL and vote,” Mitchell said on Twitter. “Anyone else hearing this? Anything to it? That might explain the 30% turnout higher than population percentage. Just reporting the rumor.”

The rumor appears to have first appeared on Reddit last month in a thread posted by a user named “Warren4Prez.” The post appears to be an attempt to smear a Doug Jones victory.
One post reads: “African-Americans in Mississippi: we need you to make a short trip to Alabama on December 12 and vote against the right-wing Republican Senate candidate and child molester Roy Moore.”
Conservative celebrity Chuck Woolery, the former host of Love Connection, tweeted a fake news article with the same claim Mitchell tweeted about. He captioned the tweet: “Evidence of Voter Fraud in Alabama As Mobile County Results Come In Late.”

Other pro-Trump twitter users had theories of their own:
Check out time stamps. Write in vote numbers dropped as Jones count went up. Trump then tweets about write ins being the key. They knew. This was a sting and #Dems are about to be hammered on voter fraud. #QAnon #FollowTheWhiteRabbit pic.twitter.com/etd9GBIvxj

Trump won in Alabama by 28% and all of a sudden judge Moore loses this race. I ask the state to look into voting fraud

I have no doubt Roy Moore won & voter fraud gave it to Jones. Both dems & establishment republicans didn't want Moore so they made it happen. McConnell is as dirty as the dems & felt threatened by Bannon. RNC played their role also to avoid being blamed & Fox lied to give cover.

U didn't find it strange Moore was up until very end…when Democrat counties came in late with just enough votes to give Jones 1 point win? Why did they get to wait until end? So they could steal election knowing EXACTLY vote totals needed?https://t.co/auexbxULzs
