Trump has now spent one-third of the days since entering office at a Trump property, despite his vow to rarely leave the White House if elected.
“I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” Trump told ITK during the 2016 campaign. “I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off. You don’t have time to take time off.”
“I love golf, but if I were in the White House, I don’t think I’d ever see Turnberry again,” Trump said in February 2016 during a campaign stop in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, according to CBS News. “I don’t think I’d ever see Doral again — I own Doral in Miami — I don’t think I’d ever see many of the places that I have. I don’t ever think I’d see anything — I just wanna stay in the White House and work my ass off, make great deals, right? Who’s gonna leave?”
Between 2011 and 2016, Trump tweeted at least 27 complaints about President Barack Obama playing golf while president.
