POW McCain Destroys Trump’s Claim That He’s The Worst Treated Politician Ever: ‘I’ve Been Treated Worse’

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) eviscerated President Trump’s unhinged claims that he has been treated worse than any other politician in history.

During a Thursday morning interview with MSNBC, McCain responded to Trump’s comments at the United States Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday where he said that “no politician in history” has been treated as unfairly as he has.

“Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media,” Trump said during his speech. “No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly.”

“I’ve been worse treated than President Trump has, so let’s be sure that we know about that,” McCain said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

McCain, a former Navy pilot, spent roughly five-and-half years in a notorious North Vietnamese prison known as the “Hanoi Hilton,” where he was repeatedly tortured and spent two of those years in solitary confinement.

Weeks after launching his presidential campaign in 2015, Trump claimed that Sen. McCain was not a war hero “because he was captured.”

“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

In a pair of early morning tweets, Trump lashed out at news that a special prosecutor had been appointed to oversee the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
