Police said a man trespassed into New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office in Queens on Saturday afternoon, according to The Hill.
A 27-year-old man allegedly sprayed a fire extinguisher while officers arrived creating a “cloud condition,” said New York Police Department spokesman George Tsourovakas.
When the cloud dissipated, police say the man was seen holding a broken bottle.
He then entered a utility closet but exited after officers persuaded him to do so, according to Tsourovakas.
The man was then taken into police custody.
A police source told the news outlet that Ocasio-Cortez was not in the Queens office at the time of the break-in.
