Pence Subjected To ‘Horrendous Stench Of Urine’ While Touring Trump’s Overcrowded Migrant Cages: Report

Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Lindsey Graham were met with an “overwhelming” stench of urine and body odors while touring one of President Donald Trump’s dangerously overcrowded border detention facilities on Friday.

“VP saw 384 men sleeping inside fences, on concrete with no pillows or mats. They said they hadn’t showered in weeks, wanted toothbrushes, food. Stench was overwhelming,” Josh Dawsey of The Washington Post reported Friday.

“Reporters describe stench of urine,” CNN’s Matt Hoye reported.

“Pence walked into the room a few moments after us. He paused for a moment … It was quite humid and there was a notable smell of sweat in the air. He didn’t say anything. Only watched. And then he was escorted out. It was a striking visual,” according to the White House pool report.

“The immigrant men, held in ‘sweltering hot’ conditions told reporters they were hungry and wanted to brush their teeth. The smell in the area was ‘horrendous’ and some of the officers guarding the cages wore face masks,” reported BuzzFeed News’ Adolfo Flores.

“The White House press pool visited the McAllen Border Patrol station today and saw 384 in cages with no mats or pillows. When the men saw reporters they started yelling that they’d been locked up there for 40 days or longer,” Flores added.

“I was not surprised by what I saw,” said Pence at a news conference after seeing conditions inside the McAllen station.
