NRA Spokeswoman Attacks Parkland Shooting Survivors, Claims They Put Her Life In Danger

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch said Thursday morning at the 2018 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that she wouldn’t have been able to exit last night’s town hall on the Parkland, Fla. school shooting if she didn’t have an armed security detail.

“I want to make this super obvious point,” Loesch said. “The government has proven that they cannot keep you safe. And yet, some people want all of us to disarm. You heard that town hall last night. They cheered the confiscation of firearms. And it was over 5,000 people.”

“I had to have a security detail to get out,” she said of the Sunland, Fla. event. “I wouldn’t be able to exit that if I didn’t have a private security detail. There were people rushing the stage and screaming burn her. And I came there to talk solutions and I still am going to continue that conversation on solutions as the NRA has been doing since before I was alive.”

A video taken by Twitter user “Michelle” (@hope4tigers) on Wednesday night appears to contradict Loesch’s claim that she was in imminent danger. The video does appear to show her security detail escorting her from the BB&T Center stage as audience members can be heard chanting “shame on you,” not “burn her.”

“Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it,” Loesch added. “Now I’m not saying that you love the tragedy. But I am saying that you love the ratings. Crying white mothers are ratings gold to you and many in the legacy media in the back (of the room).”

“And notice I said ‘crying white mothers’ because there are thousands of grieving black mothers in Chicago every weekend, and you don’t see town halls for them, do you?” Loesch asked. “Where’s the CNN town hall for Chicago? Where’s the CNN town hall for sanctuary cities?”
