North Korean State TV Airs Footage Of Trump Saluting North Korean Military Officer

North Korean state media on Tuesday broadcast its first video of President Trump’s historic summit with Kim Jong Un in Singapore, including never-before-seen footage of Trump saluting a North Korean general.

In the nearly 42-minute video aired on North Korea’s KCTV news channel, Kim can be seen shaking Trump’s hand before Trump turns to shake the hand of a North Korean officer standing next to Kim. The officer can be seen saluting Trump, prompting the president to salute back.

The Hill notes:

U.S. presidents generally salute U.S. service members, but do not salute members of other nation’s militaries.

CNN reports that other exclusive footage broadcast Thursday from North Korean state media included shots of Kim preparing for the summit on his plane and lounging in at the luxury resort in Singapore, where the summit was held.
