An MSNBC town hall in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania erupted on Thursday after former Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) claimed that President Trump’s long-promised border wall is needed on the U.S.-Mexico border to stop undocumented immigrants from molesting American women.
Asked about his position on illegal immigration, the former Republican congressman explained that the priority should be to “secure the border first” to stem “the flow of people coming into the country illegally.”
Barletta then accused Democrats of refusing to work to secure the border first to stop “the women who are being molested” by undocumented immigrants, and to stop “the drug dealers that are coming in.”
The crowd of Pennsylvania voters erupted with shouts and loud boos, drowning out Barletta.
“That’s real,” Barletta said, “They can moan all they want, they can moan all they want. Unless it was your daughter, you can moan all you want, but if it’s your daughter then you have a different feeling.”
