Rep.-elect Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) will plead guilty to assaulting a reporter in May, according to the Associated Press.

Gianforte was charged with misdemeanor assault following the encounter and now faces a maximum of six months in jail, a $500 fine, or both.
Gianforte issued a full apology to reporter Ben Jacobs after body slamming him and breaking his glasses due to a question on Trumpcare.
“I am sorry for what I did and the unwanted notoriety this has created for you. I take full responsibility.”
Gianforte shook the political world when he body slammed Jacobs on the eve of his election. Despite facing backlash, Gianforte won the historically Republican district.
