Miami Herald Publishes The Names Of Nearly 1,157 Kids Killed By Guns Since 2018’s Parkland Shooting

In the year since a shooter opened fire on students at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., there have been 1,157 youths killed by guns in the 12 months since 17 were killed at the high school.

The Miami Herald on Sunday published the name of every youth that has died as a result of gun violence in the past year as the nation marks the one-year anniversary of the deadly mass shooting at Parkland.

The printed list came with a front-page story titled “Since Parkland.”

The newspaper separated the deaths by guns into different categories, such as “school shooting,” “homicide,” and “accidental.”

Included is an age breakdown of the victims who died throughout the year.

The complete list of names took up two full pages in the newspaper.

According to Fortune, left out of the list are gun deaths of those who were killed while injuring someone else and an estimated 900 to 1,000 deaths due to suicide.
