Maskless Mother Brings Her Newborn Baby To Trump’s Tulsa Rally Despite Warnings From Health Officials

A young mother was seen holding an “apparent newborn baby” in line outside of the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the family waited to enter President Trump’s campaign rally.

“The person who posted this was documenting her day ahead of the actual rally later this evening, and one of the last posts on her IG story shows this woman with what looks like a recently born child,” TMZ reports, noting the video was filmed on Saturday. “The woman who posted says 3 weeks old — tagging it #BabiesForTrump.”

Another young baby was spotted outside Trump’s rally on Saturday.

“Dear God, why did this parent bring a tiny baby to the #TrumpTulsaRally #TrumpRally?” one Twitter user wrote. “Even if the baby doesn’t get sick, will the father and his extended family??”

Trump’s Saturday indoor rally was held despite urgent warnings from health officials about the worsening coronavirus outbreak in Tulsa, Okla.

Hundreds of Oklahoma medical professionals recently signed a letter urging the Republican mayor of Tulsa to cancel the rally after the state reported a record increase in new coronavirus cases.

The letter’s author, Dr. Jabraan Pasha, told Insider that the decision to hold one of the first large indoor gatherings worldwide since the coronavirus outbreak is “unbelievably reckless.”

An intensive care physician at Tulsa’s St. John Medical Center warned “we simply don’t have the capacity to handle the number of people who will be infected because of this weekend’s activities.”

Trump has specified that face coverings at the event are optional, telling Axios’ Jonathan Swan on Friday: “I recommend people do what they want.”
