Kenosha Protesters Chase Suspected Shooter, Opens Fire On Crowd After He Trips And Falls

A young white man seen carrying an AR-15-style rifle opened fire on a crowd of protesters early Wednesday morning in Kenosha, Wis., on the third night of unrest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake Jr.

At least three people were injured, reports The Washington Post.

“Shots were first fired after midnight, as a group of protesters on Sheridan Road faced off with police in armored trucks. A young White man carrying an AR-15-style rifle began running north on Sheridan, away from the group,” the Post reports. “Video shows the armed man fall to the ground, and then fire multiple rounds into the crowd. Two more people fell to the ground, one shot in the arm. Another graphic video shows one man with blood running down the back of his neck and bystanders shouting that he’d been shot in the head.”

Warning, the video below contains graphic footage.

In a video that appears to have been shot after the shooting, a man identified as the shooter in the above video was offered water by local Kenosha police.

An officer reportedly tells the armed militia members: “We appreciate you being here.”

UPDATE: A newly surfaced video shows the suspected shooter confessing to shooting a man shortly before he took off running and tripped in the above video.

In the video, the suspect appears to be on the phone and can be heard saying: “I just killed somebody.”
