Kellyanne Conway’s Husband Rips Trump: We Need A President Who Understands The Rule Of Law

George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, ripped into President Trump for calling for investigations into his political enemies, saying the country needs a president “capable of comprehending what it means to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”

“What everyone should want, and the country needs, is a ‘President’ capable of comprehending what it means to ‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed,’” Conway tweeted.

Conway, who is a conservative lawyer, was responding to Trump’s Friday morning tweet responding to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ statement that the Justice Department will not be “improperly influenced by political considerations.”

“Come on Jeff, you can do it, the country is waiting!” Trump tweeted.

Earlier this week, Trump told Fox News that Sessions “never took control of the Justice Department.”

“When everybody sees what’s going on in the Justice Department — I always put ‘justice’ now with quotes — it’s a very, very sad day,” Trump told “Fox and Friends” in an interview that aired Thursday morning.

Trump then revealed he had only given Sessions the attorney general job to reward his loyalty and asked, “What kind of a man is this?”

In response to the president’s attacks, Sessions released a sharp statement pushing back at Trump’s criticisms.

“While I am attorney general, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations,” he said. “I demand the highest standards, and where they are not met, I take action,” he continued.

Trump quoted that statement in his Friday morning tweet, saying, “Jeff, this is GREAT, what everyone wants, so look into all of the corruption on the ‘other side’ including deleted Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr…”
