House Democrats on Monday subpoenaed Deutsche Bank and several other banks, asking for information about President Trump’s finances, as well as the dealings between the banks and Russia.
The subpoenas were issued by House’s Intelligence and Financial Services committees, The New York Times reported on Monday, citing several people with knowledge of the investigation.
“The subpoenas, from the House’s Intelligence and Financial Services committees, were the latest attempts by congressional Democrats to collect information about the finances of Mr. Trump and his family-owned company. Another House committee is separately seeking Mr. Trump’s personal and corporate tax returns,” reports the Times.
The House Ways and Means Committee earlier this month formally requested six years of Trump’s tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service, a request the White House plans to fight.
