GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz: Trump’s Legal Defense Worse Than ‘An 8th Grade Book Report’

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz (Fla.), one of Trump’s top defenders, appeared envious of the Democrats’ use of multimedia during the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump and wished Trump’s defense team would follow suit, according to Politico’s Andrew Desiderio.

Questioned about his take on the way the case is unfolding before the Senate, Gaetz said that the House presented it like it was going to be on “cable news.”

Desiderio said that Gaetz then lamented that the White House presented their case more like “an 8th-grade book report.”

“Actually, no, I take that back,” he stopped, noting that an 8th grader would have actually used visual aids like PowerPoint and iPads.
